| So anyway – so if
you're going to use a display, how do you select things
off the screen? So there was a lot of argument about light
pens and everything else. So we set some experiments up.
And I got an idea and it turned out to be the mouse. I mean,
this was the first one: about three inches by two inches
or something like that, and a couple of disks on the bottom
that roll around on a surface like that. And that's what
you did your clicking with.
And we set that up with a bunch of
experiments and it kept winning. And we all knew that
when display working computers really get serious, it's
going to go.
